That's usually the case with DJ sets. People spin some records, not
necessarily their own.
In most DJ cultures this is common. In fact, when it comes to drum'n'bass
for instance the ones that do play only their own music are sometimes
regarded as lame.
Dillinja is probably the only one who does this. Paradox has a tendency to
do this as well, but he tends to do very a-typical DJ sets anyway, since
he's not really a DJ in the first place.
I see that in breakcore circles artists are more into playing their own
stuff, but in this case it's more of a performance than a DJ set.
Which is also what AFX is I guess. I doubt his best skill is DJing, hence he
isn't good at it. It's typical for electronic music though that good
producers are called in to play DJ sets because their name brings in a lot
of folks, but sometimes you're better off checking out a tru DJ, who can
really create a vibe on the floor and play a good set, instead of just a
bunch of records.
