Well, don't I feel the fool now.  MacCSound 1.2a4 not only fixed my problem,
but defaulted buffer size to 128 by itself.  Sweet!  Thanks, Matt!

I guess I'll check it out in 1.1b as soon as I can get my hands on a copy.
