Socialist vs. Capitalist?

I've always found the happy/sad dichotomy unsatisfactory, otoh I  
recall that the very first piano school that I learned from used  
precisely that metaphor to explain major/minor. Can 50,000,000 John  
Thompson pupils be wrong?

(Actually, yes! they can! but being wrong was never a hindrance for a  
popular theory.)

The map of neural activity was the point that was actually  
interesting. More interesting might have been an examination of how  
the brain reacts to modal and non-tonal melodies.
