Perhaps he wasn't taken seriously by the electronic academics because =
some of his jazz pieces were used by Carl Stalling in all those Looney =
Tunes cartoons. Or maybe it's because while he was inventing amazing =
machines in his incredible basement workshops, he was a very public =
figure on television, conducting very cheesy music to earn what must =
have been a good living. IMHO, his inventions and music need to be =
explored in any electroacoustic program that spends time on Hugh Le =
Caine and Robert Moog. At the very least, all electroacoustic students =
should be encouraged to visit the very detailed and entertaining website =
