Well Ned =

oncordia.ca/entertainment/012537.shtmlThe =
CBC report came out of the student, Adam O'Callaghan's pioneering work =
to organize a retrospective concert, March 12, 2008 at Concordia. There =
were about a dozen Concordia ea students involved in (re)creating some =
of his early ea ideas. There were also about 20 jazz instrumentalists =
and vocalists, and dancers involved.http://raymondscott.com/News.ht=

Raymond Scott was not mentioned in traditional ea classes. There are =
multiple parallel lines in the development of ea, and the two DVDs, =
Theremin, The Electronic Odyssey, and MOOG, A Documentary Film by Hans =
Fjellestad document the "other" streams, along with Norman McLaren, The =

complete understanding of the impact of technological developments. =
Theremin, Moog, Le Caine ... were working from 'extending' the basis of =
traditional instruments. Their work was frequently focused on =
performance, melody and keyboards. McLaren was involved with ways of =
creating new sounds, and he too often worked on producing pitch-based =
sonic structures. Taken from the "film sound design" perspective, these =
people were working in the "music" stream (more or less). The concrete =
school of sound were coming from the "foley" stream of sound with image. =
The work of Cage and Tudor came from a performance stream as well, but =
from a different basis, with different aesthetic, ideological, =
philosophical and religious =
intentions.BestKevinOn 2008, May 3, at 2:25 PM, Ned Bouhalassa =

anyone on the list ever met him? Has anyone ever seen the Electronium or =
Videola or Clavivox in person? I'd love to hear some stories. I know =
