piano/electronics lecture-recital
Dear CEC members,I would like to invite those of you in Montréal to my lecture-recital on the 16th of May.I will discuss several approaches to integrating
piano and interactive electronics (along with performance practice issues), and will perform three works: Song from the Moment by McGill composer Bryan Jacobs (premiere, 8-channel surround sound), Cortazar, ou quarto com caixa vazia by Silvio Ferraz (Campinas University, Brazil, 4 channels) and Zellen-Linien
by Hans Tutschku (Harvard, 8-channel surround sound). The recital will
take place at 8 pm in Tanna Schulich Hall (enter through 555 Sherbrooke
St. West). You will have an opportunity to ask me tough
questions at the end, as well as converse with two of the composers, who will be present.Thank you again to all who suggested repertoire for this project - I am only sorry I could not program all of it!
