Re: (amb) What other music do you listen to?
Personally, I don't care for the new 'pop' country. Faith Hill/Shania
kind of stuff. I do like Johnny Cash and the 'bad boy' country stuff,
bluegrass, old-timey hill-folk music. I lived in WV for 10 years and
listened to Mountain Stage/Public radio quite a bit. The pop-country
has a kind of slickness that I don't care for. I like country with
more of a rough edge to it. Though I also really appreciate the
attitude of country artists. They seem much more appreciative and
humble than a lot of "Rock Stars"
Like lots of other genre's when you label it 'country' or 'rock' it's
a bit too general a term. I'm not overly fond of the slick 'rock'
either. Give me Megadeth or Opeth over Stone Sour any day. :)
Someone sent me to this online radio site the other day
www.slacker.com Nice app. It has user definable stations. Much like
others, but the selection of songs is pretty good. I have no
affiliation with them, just a satisfied listener.
