I mostly listen to prog and metal.  classic prog, new prog, prog
metal.  But, there's a pretty wide range of stuff I listen to
depending on my mood. Ambient is not on the top of my list. I usually
listen to it when I'm programming or bumming around in my studio.

Throw in some death metal, jazz fusion, Beatles, classic hard
rock/metal, industrial, psychedelic, bluegrass, classical, and that's
what I might be listening to.

As far as NOT on my list.. new 'pop' country (though Allison Krause is
outstanding), rap/hiphop, pop.
